Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable
Mary Oliver
Why

Gatherings and events often focus on the mental and intellectual capacities of people. Sometimes there is some effort to involve the physical plane, with moments of lively interaction or fun activities. Far less are the moments that the heart is invited to the dance.

Poetic observations, stories and music create memorable moments that move people. They inspire, value and connect and help participants to integrate insights, experiences and learnings.

For whom
  • Organisors of events, gatherings, concerts, … looking for inspiring ways to reach out to the audience
  • Facilitators and trainers who would like to use a story to address a theme, to mark a milestone or to take a safe peek under the waterline
  • Organisations who want to do something special to mark a milestone
What

I capture intangible and tangible elements of an event or workshop in a poetic observation, a story or a song, combining my artistic skills with my experience in organisational development to create moments that matter.

  • solo or engaging the participants in a process of co-creation
  • created and performed on the spot
  • I am a singer. I adapt existing songs and I compose new songs. I can accompany myself on the piano or the ukulele, and I can work together with other musicians to co-create a song
  • if relevant I join forces with visual reporters (audiovisual – graphic) to unify the reporting
  • if relevant I write text(s) on beforehand
  • in certain formats I can combine the artistic event reporting with presenting and/or interactive ice-breaker exercises

Thank you for an great contribution and an amazing performance at the EDPD 2016! Your story and painting about a little stream looking for and striving to be part of the mainstream made quite a footprint in me.

Elisabet Hvalgren

Bert Smits, doorbraakarchitect

This is a special and beautiful harvest of our workshop, the exchanges and the togetherness.  It is wonderful how you managed to reconcile the personal with the whole.  I am not only impressed, but especially moved by the beauty and accurate observations in your poems. Leen Van Lindt, Co-organiser of a Learn & Share

My approach: what you can expect from me
Preparation

We have a conversation on beforehand to make sure we’re on the same wavelength.

Focussed Presence

I am fully present, with body, heart and mind. Nothing less.

Original

I do no copy, I create original content.

Performance

I love being on stage and I happily share my poems and stories with audiences of all sizes.

Involving Participants

I can work solo or involve the participants and co-create the harvest with them.

Collaboration

I collaborate closely with the organisers and other harvesters present, such as photographers, camera(wo)men, journalists, graphic recorders…

Surprising Combinations

I write poetry and stories, I perform, I sing, I adapt and I write songs, I film and edit and I have an eye for lay-out and graphics. I can combine all of this into a meaningful whole.

Multi-lingual

I write poetry and stories in Flemish/Dutch, English and French, I speak German and I work together with proofreaders and native speakers to complement where needed.

Fun

I use the word “playing” for a reason: it’s a skill we forget all too often. I will always be sincere. I might not always be serious. Laughter is a good sign: it means we have released something, encountered something different, stepped out of our comfort zone. So beware: smiles ahead 🙂

Aftercare

I make sure at the end the outcome is what you need: I deliver on the spot and I can also support you in creating beautiful documents to share after the event.

Professionalism

For me this means walking my talk, being respectful, direct, effective and transparent, and continuous evolving and learning in my artistry.

A little bit of magic

Not everything can be explained in words…
